In the coming days, Ukraine will be under the influence of a slow-moving cold anticyclone “Elvira.” This atmospheric phenomenon will cause a significant drop in temperature and dry but frosty weather in most regions.

According to weather forecasters, cool weather without precipitation is expected in Ukraine on February 8 and 9, but with a risk of ice. Due to the influence of the anticyclone “Elvira”, the air temperature will be below the climatic norm. It will be coldest in the east of the country and in the Carpathians.
Weather February 8
On Saturday, February 8, partly cloudy weather is forecast in the western regions. Ice is possible on the roads. The temperature at night will be -2…-7 °C, during the day -2…+3 °C. It will be even colder in the Carpathians: at night -7…-12 °C, during the day 0…-5 °C.
There will also be ice in the north of the country. At night, the temperature will drop to -5…-10 °C, and during the day it will fluctuate within the range of -4…+1 °C.
In the central regions of Ukraine, partly cloudy weather is expected, with ice on the roads in some places. East wind, 5-10 m/s. The air temperature at night will be -4...-9 °C, during the day -3...+2 °C.
In the south of Ukraine, it will be partly cloudy. The wind is easterly, 7-12 m/s, and gusts of up to 15-20 m/s are possible in the Azov region and Crimea. At night, the air temperature will be 0...-5 °C, during the day 0...+5 °C.
Eastern regions will remain the coldest: dry weather is forecast here, but with icy roads. At night, the temperature will drop to -7…-12 °C, and during the day it will fluctuate within the range of -1…-6 °C.

On Sunday, February 9, the weather in Ukraine will remain unchanged.
In the west of the country, dry weather without precipitation is expected, but icy roads will remain. The air temperature at night will be -2…-7 °C, during the day -2…+3 °C. In the Carpathians, night frosts will reach -6…-11 °C, during the day it will be -1…+4 °C.
In the north, partly cloudy weather will persist. At night, the temperature will drop to -5…-10 °C, and during the day, it is expected to be from -3 to +2 °C.
In the center of the country, it will also be partly cloudy, with occasional ice. East wind, 5-10 m/s. Temperature at night -3...-8 °C, during the day -2...+3 °C.
In the south of Ukraine, partly cloudy weather will prevail. Wind 7 - 12 m/s, gusts of 15 - 17 m/s are possible in the Azov region and Crimea. At night, the temperature will drop to -1...-6 °C, during the day it will be -1...+4 °C.
The eastern regions will continue to be the coldest: frosty and dry weather will persist here. There will be ice on the roads. At night, the temperature will drop to -6…-11 °C, and during the day it will be -1…-6 °C.
As a reminder, in Ukraine on Friday, February 7, the weather will be mostly dry and cold, as a powerful anticyclone has swept over the country. At the same time, snow is forecast in the southern regions, and ice will form on the roads in some places. Strong gusts of wind are also expected.
