The anti-corruption court of Ukraine has started preparations for the hearing of the case regarding the accusation of seven persons for embezzlement of the funds of the state enterprise "Ukrspirt". According to the information made public at the court hearing, the defendants face charges of illegal withdrawal of more than 55 million hryvnias from the company's financial resources.
"To appoint a trial in criminal proceedings in the hall of the Higher Anti-Corruption Court at 08:30 on July 29, 2024. The trial shall be conducted collegially by three judges in an open court session ," the decision reads.
As you know, the following are accused in the case: Mykola Cherkhavy, the former head of the commercial policy department of "Ukrspirt"; Yulia Ogorodnik, former manager of the department of material and technical support of the commercial management of "Ukrspirt"; Volodymyr Ruchka, former head of the logistics department of "Ukrspirt"; Oleksiy Demidov, head of "Ugillia Invest" LLC, and his accountant, Elena Druzhkina, as well as Ruslan Chernushenko, former owner and director of the scientific and manufacturing enterprise "Avrora".
It will be recalled that the SAP referred to the court the case regarding the losses of the state-owned enterprise "Ukrspirt". According to the investigation, in 2017-2020, State Enterprise "Ukrspirt" announced tenders for the purchase of such fuel. In them, predetermined private companies won. They supplied more than 20,000 tons of fuel at prices higher than market prices. To create the appearance of transparency of the auction, entrepreneurs ensured the participation of technical participants. State enterprise "Ukrspirt" suffered damages in the amount of more than UAH 55 million. In this proceeding, a meeting was scheduled.
