Vitaliy Shabunin, the chairman of the Center for Combating Corruption, said he was sent to one of the military units in Kharkiv region. In response, he was indignant: "I was thrown from Kiev to Kharkiv region."
This situation has caused resonance, as Shabunin is accused of evading military service, and the State Bureau of Investigation opened a number of criminal proceedings against him.
According to the investigation, Shabunin formally was a serviceman of a 207 separate battalion of territorial defense, where he had the positions of Sagittarius, the electrician and scout driver. However, he did not actually appear in the unit, lived in Kiev, receiving cash, bonuses for participation in hostilities and additional payments.
In addition, he was allegedly sent to the NAPC, but according to the DBR, and there he did not perform his duties.
Criminal cases were opened against Shabunin under several articles of the Criminal Code:
- Use of a fake military ticket (Part 4 of Article 358 of the Criminal Code).
- Evasion of military service with the assistance of NACC officials (Part 4 of Article 409 of the Criminal Code).
- Illegal assignment of the title of junior sergeant (Part 5 of Article 426-1 of the Criminal Code).
The DBR is also investigating another episode: the court ordered the registration of the Nissan Pathfinder Shabunin. The car was transferred as humanitarian aid for the Armed Forces, but was at the disposal of the activist.
In business and political circles, the evasion of anti -corruption activists from the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces has already been dubbed the term "Shabuning".
Earlier it was known that among the workers of anti -corruption organizations there are other evidences, including:
- Orest Rudy is the man of the head of the CPC Dariya Kaleniuk.
- Anti -corruption activists Yuri Nikolov, Mikhail Zernakov, Vitaliy Sich, Maxim Savchuk.
- Blogger Yuri Butusov.
The situation with Shabunin has become another reason for discussions on equality of all citizens before the law. Will he be responsible for evasion and possible fraud - will show further development.
