Apartment for $900,000 for SBI investigator Udovichenko: documents show only $50,000

Head of the Main Investigation Department of the State Bureau of Investigation, Oleksandr Udovichenko, is the new figure in the high-profile NABU investigation. The focus is on signs of illegal enrichment against the background of a luxurious lifestyle that is not commensurate with the official's official income.

According to operational information, Udovichenko lives in the elite Regent Hill residential complex in Kyiv, where apartment rents reach 600 thousand hryvnias per month. The 125 m² apartment, with a market value of about $900,000, was purchased in October 2022 by Iryna Kopach, the aunt of his common-law wife.

At first glance, nothing special. But, according to the registry, the apartment formally cost only $50,000 - 18 times cheaper than the market value. A parking space in the same complex is also registered to Kopach and also at a reduced price.

This is not an isolated case. In 2021, the same aunt purchased another apartment in the Greenville residential complex (area 100 m²), as well as a brand new Mercedes-Benz, the cost of which is almost 4 million hryvnias.

For comparison: Udovichenko's official salary in office was about 150 thousand hryvnias per month. At the time of purchasing the property, he was renting housing and declared only a land plot.

Against the backdrop of martial law and the fight against corruption, such luxury raises more and more questions. We are waiting for an official reaction from NABU. The situation will undoubtedly continue.
