NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg today announced the appointment of Patrick Turner as Senior Representative to head the NATO Mission to Ukraine, the Alliance’s press service reported.
Patrick Turner will take up this important position in September 2024. Turner will also provide assessments and recommendations on the situation in Ukraine.
Jens Stoltenberg expressed confidence that Turner will successfully cope with the responsibilities assigned to him, as NATO continues to increase its support for Ukraine.
“It is a real honour for me to be appointed as NATO’s Senior Representative to Ukraine. I look forward to leading the NATO Delegation and working very closely with the Ukrainian authorities, as well as NATO Allies and partners, to help deliver NATO’s support to Ukraine,” said Turner.
Patrick Turner's appointment demonstrates NATO's continued active support for Ukraine and strengthened cooperation between the Alliance and the Ukrainian authorities in the face of modern challenges.
