The higher anti-corruption court decided to take into custody until May 31 the former freelance adviser to the Office of the President, as well as an employee of the Security Service of Ukraine, Artem Shila, in connection with the suspicion of organizing the seizure of 182 million hryvnias from JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" during the purchase of cables and transformers. The decision was made by the investigating judge of the High Anti-Corruption Court, Kateryna Sikora.
Judge Sikora determined the term of detention until May 31, 2024 and bail in the amount of 30 million hryvnias for Shyla. If bail is received, the suspect may be released under certain conditions, such as a ban on leaving the city without permission, notification of a change of residence, and others.
We will remind that NABU and SAP detained Artem Shyla together with other persons involved in the case of organized appropriation of funds during the purchase of power equipment for Ukrzaliznytsia. According to the preliminary conclusions of the investigation, Shilo and other co-conspirators ensured the purchase of transformers at an inflated price through an intermediary company, the losses from which amounted to more than 94 million hryvnias.
A bail of 30 million hryvnias was made for the former adviser of the Office of the President of Ukraine Artem Shil. He was one of the suspects in the case of the embezzlement of 94.8 million hryvnias from "Ukrzaliznytsia" during the purchase of transformers.
After posting bail, Shilo must comply with a number of obligations, including handing over foreign passports and wearing an electronic bracelet. In case of breach of obligations, the deposit can be charged to the budget revenue.
It is worth noting that he also does not have the right to communicate about the circumstances of the case with the head of the OPU Andriy Yermak, his deputy Oleg Tatarov, the head of the Ministry of Strategy and Industry Oleksandr Kamyshin, Deputy Prime Minister Oleksandr Kubrakov and a number of other persons.
