Military expert Mykola Voroshnov warns of a critical situation at the front, pointing to the rapid advance of the army of the Russian Federation in the Selidovoy area. According to him, Russian troops are already only 6 km from this strategically important city, which can significantly complicate the defense of Kurakhovo.
"It is extremely difficult to defend the city effectively for a long time due to the complexity of the landscape. When they reach the highway, storming the city will be faster than clearing Suja. The enemy crossed the Vugledar-Marinka highway and entrenched in our former positions. The fall of Selydovoy threatens, first of all, the defense of the city of Kurakhove, which should be covered precisely from the heights from the direction of Selydovoy, and this group should be cut off by a rather large reservoir," writes Voroshnov.
Also, according to his assessment, there is a threat of semi-encirclement of the group in Vugledar, if the Russian Federation manages to capture a number of important objects along the Vugledar-Marinka route.
In fact, Voroshnov confirms that the offensive of the Russian Federation in the Pokrovsky direction, which is currently no longer going west, towards Mirnograd, but to the southwest, globally in the direction of the Vremivskyi ledge, aims to bypass the second line of Ukrainian defense on the entire Donetsk front from the west from Ocheretiny to Vugledar.
