Former Bucha City Council deputy Oleksandr Tamozhny, the prosecutor's husband, who is now a candidate for the position of deputy head of the SBU Project Institute, has found himself in the spotlight due to large-scale land schemes in Bucha.
From 2011 to 2015, Tamozhny effectively headed the Party of Regions faction in the city council. His activities were often accompanied by scandals: in 2018, he purchased a Lexus LS 460 at a price half the market price, which led to a report from the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACP) for failing to submit a report on time. He also organized pickets and demolished fences near businessmen’s houses to divert attention from public protests.
The customs officer has repeatedly tried to get into big politics: in 2014 he ran for the Verkhovna Rada from the “Liberal Party of Ukraine”, in 2019 he was a self-nominated candidate, but refused to participate. Currently, he is engaged in entrepreneurial activities, in particular, he became a co-founder of “Simple Task” LLC.
The land schemes in Bucha turned out to be large-scale. About 10 years ago, a forest was cut down near the Druzhnyi sanatorium and construction began, uniting 62 land plots with a total area of over 6 hectares. The lands were registered for deputies and front persons, including relatives of Tamozhny, who participated in the scheme. Some of the plots were sold to former deputy Ruslan Skarboviychuk, later they ended up with Volodymyr Zayts, and later - with Tatyana Mukhamova.
In addition, Tamozhny built townhouses on Proletarska and Tolstoho streets, registered to Kirovohrad residents Natalia Opryshko and Halyna Prydybaylo. The former deputy's wife, Olena Tamozhny, also received a plot of land. Tamozhny's family members and party connections participated in the scheme.
Thus, the land schemes in Bucha demonstrate a close intertwining of political, family, and business interests, where the former Customs deputy played a key role.
