The last month of summer will bring Ukrainians a number of important innovations in the fields of transport, social benefits, business, and education. Some of them will come into effect as early as August 1, 2025.
Train tickets — only with “Diya.Pydpys”
From August 1, Ukrzaliznytsia is introducing new rules for selling tickets for the most popular flights - now they can only be purchased through the app using “Diya.Pidpisu”. These tickets will no longer be sold at box offices. This decision is aimed at combating resellers.
However, the ticket reservation procedure for military personnel remains unchanged. For all other passengers who cannot use "Diya", instructions have been prepared on how to activate a digital signature.
Introductory campaign - deadlines are approaching
Registration for electronic accounts and creative competitions for applicants will end on August 1. Rating lists for admission to the budget will appear on August 6. Those who receive a recommendation must fulfill the conditions for enrollment by August 9. The enrollment itself will last until August 11, and transfer to vacant places will be made until August 18.
New fines for entrepreneurs
Starting in August, entrepreneurs who operate without a PRO or do not issue fiscal checks will face a significant increase in fines. A first-time violation will cost 100% of the cost of the goods or services sold, and a second violation will cost 150%.
5,000 hryvnias per first-grader
Before the start of the school year, parents of future first-graders can apply for the so-called “schoolchild package” — a one-time grant of 5,000 hryvnias for clothing, stationery, and textbooks. You can apply through “Diya” or at the Pension Fund office.
We would like to remind you that in Ukraine, there are plans to increase the maternity benefit from 10,000 to 50,000 hryvnias, as well as introduce 7,000 hryvnias per month for women on maternity leave. However, these changes have not yet come into effect.
Pensions in August: there will be additional payments
There will be no indexation in August, however, pensioners aged 65+ with insufficient work experience who receive less than 3,200 hryvnias will receive an additional payment to this amount.
Also in August, age pension supplements, which are traditionally awarded to pensioners with birthdays, will come into effect.
Holidays and weekends
August is rich in both religious and secular holidays. Among the main ones:
-
Transfiguration of the Lord (August 19)
-
Assumption of the Virgin Mary (August 28)
-
Ukrainian Air Force Day (August 4)
-
Signal Corps Day (August 8)
-
Days of cities: Ternopil, Kharkiv, Rivne, Donetsk
But the main event of the month is Ukraine’s Independence Day, which this year falls on Sunday, August 24. In peacetime, that would mean an extra day off on Monday. However, due to martial law, there will be no official “postponed” day off, although some employers may grant time off at their discretion.
