Boryspil International Airport is holding talks with Wizz Air representatives on the rapid resumption of flights after the opening of Ukrainian airspace. The meeting took place from February 11 to 13 in Budapest, at the airline's headquarters.
During the negotiations, the Ukrainian side informed the partners in detail about:
- the condition of the airport infrastructure;
- readiness of the airfield, terminals and technical support;
- compliance with certification requirements;
- personnel qualifications;
- safety aspects of work resumption.
According to the general director of Boryspil, Oleksiy Dubrevskyi, the next important stage is an audit of the airport by Wizz Air representatives. This is a key step before the airlines return to the Ukrainian market.
Wizz Air has a clear return plan
Wizz Air CEO József Váradi previously said the airline is ready to resume flights to Kyiv within six weeks of the reopening of airspace . It also has an ambitious plan to carry 5 million passengers in the first year after operations in Ukraine resume .
It is expected that a Wizz Air delegation will visit Kyiv in the near future to inspect Boryspil Airport and assess flight safety.
