US President Joe Biden made it clear in an interview for Time that he does not support Ukraine joining NATO. This statement, which was made in the context of the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia, emphasizes the complexity of international relations and the role of the United States in ensuring the security of its allies.
"Ukraine should never be occupied by Russia. And this does not mean that it (Ukraine - Ed.) will become part of NATO. This means that we have the same relationship with them as we do with other countries when we supply them with weapons so that they can defend themselves in the future. But I was the one who said that I was not ready to support Ukraine's NATOization," the US president said in an interview with Time.
He stated that he was in Ukraine as a senator and vice president and saw "significant corruption" and "difficult circumstances."
Biden added that if Ukraine is allowed to "fall", then Poland, the Balkans and other countries of Eastern Europe will fall.
