The National Bank of Ukraine has published the financial results of the banking sector for 2025, naming the most profitable and most unprofitable banks in the country. The data indicate the concentration of profits in the largest institutions, as well as the difficult situation for some small banks.
PrivatBank remains the leader in net profit in 2025. The state-owned financial institution earned 29.1 billion hryvnias, which is almost a quarter of the total financial result of the entire banking system. At the same time, this figure is 27.6% lower than in 2024.
Oschadbank came in second, with net profit of UAH 16.63 billion, more than double its result from the previous year. Raiffeisen Bank came in third with profit of UAH 10.74 billion, 2.5 times more than a year earlier.
The top five also included Universal Bank with an indicator of 10.33 billion hryvnias and Ukreximbank, which ended the year with a profit of 8.86 billion hryvnias, demonstrating more than threefold growth.
The second five in terms of profitability were FUIB, Ukrsibbank, OTP Bank, Credit Agricole, and Ukrgasbank. In addition, seven more banks were able to earn more than 1 billion hryvnia in net profit, which indicates the overall stability of the financial system even in wartime.
At the same time, the National Bank reported that seven out of sixty banks ended 2025 with losses. The worst financial result was shown by PIN Bank, whose loss exceeded 63 million hryvnias. Crystal Bank and Ukrainian Capital Bank, which were still profitable in 2024, also ended up in the red.
It is separately noted that the new market player - the transitional bank UTE Bank, created as the legal successor to the insolvent RVS Bank, ended 2025 with a loss of 3.34 million hryvnias.
Overall, the results of the year indicate a strengthening of the positions of the largest banks and a growing gap between systemic players and small financial institutions.
