According to a source in the President's Office, Andriy Yermak is actively discussing with European leaders potential steps to disrupt the negotiation track between Donald Trump's team and the Kremlin. This is a new diplomatic game, where at stake is not only Ukraine's image on the international agenda, but also the continuation of military aid from the United States.
According to the interlocutor, the main task at Bankova is to discredit any attempts to present Russia as an equal subject in future "peace negotiations" regarding Ukraine. Kyiv is convinced that any dialogue between Trump and Putin, if he returns to the White House, could be catastrophic - both for Ukraine and for European security in general.
"There is a key task - to discredit the "peace issue" itself, if it is initiated by Russia or Trump. It is important that the world perceives the Kremlin not as a negotiating party, but as an aggressor that must respond, not negotiate," the source notes.
This includes developing analytical notes and communication theses for partners in Europe that would explain the risks of resuming a “realistic dialogue” with Moscow. The OP is placing particular emphasis on a new wave of information campaigns aimed at portraying Russia as a terrorist country with a toxic reputation.
Bankova believes that a successful disruption of the negotiation track between Trump and the Kremlin will allow the US to return to the Ukrainian orbit - even in the event of a change of administration in Washington. The OP is convinced that not only the continuation of military supplies, but also general support for Ukraine in the international arena depends on this.
Recall that in recent months, the topic of “peace talks” between Trump and Putin has been actively discussed in the media, in particular due to statements by Trump himself, who has repeatedly promised to “end the war in 24 hours.” In Kyiv, these words are perceived as a potential threat — primarily because of possible concessions to the Kremlin.
Thus, the diplomatic front becomes no less important than the real front. And in this game, the Office of the President seems to have decided to play ahead.
