At the Lviv Customs auction, the father of the Lviv Regional Council Chairman Yuriy Kholod purchased three new luxury watches: Patek Philippe, Omega, and Hublot. The total purchase price was only 100 thousand hryvnias.
According to the press service of Lviv Customs, the goods were inspected before the auction. Customs spokeswoman Tetyana Samotiy clarified that the inspection results showed that the watches were most likely either replicas or assembled from various original components.
The auction lot description did not indicate whether the accessories were original, but noted that they were unused. The low price and questionable originality of the watches raise questions about the feasibility of the purchase and its real value, especially considering that Yuri Kholod's father is a successful businessman.
This situation aroused interest among the public and the media, as the question remains open: were the watches truly valuable, or was it just a profitable opportunity to purchase replicas for a symbolic amount.
