The Central Western Interregional Directorate of the State Labor has clarified the possibility of simultaneous stay of both parents on leave for child care up to three years.
The question arises when there are two young children in the family: one child - 2 years, the other - only 2 months. Can both parents exercise the right to such a vacation - everyone for the care of an individual child?
The State Labor Office explained: yes, they can. The legislation provides that each child is a separate ground for granting leave for care before he reaches the age of three. This means that both parents may be on vacation at the same time if each of them cares for another child.
The birth certificate of the respective child and an official document confirming that the other parent did not use this right (for example, a certificate from the place of work of the second parent) must be provided to issue such leave.
Child care is not an exclusive right of one parent - it can be granted to both the mother and the father, as well as other relatives who actually carry out care.
