As of early 2024, egg prices in Ukraine remain stable, varying between 62-68 hryvnias per dozen. However, with the approach of Easter, which this year falls on May 5, a gradual increase in price is possible, associated with the traditional increase in demand for these products.
the Ukrainian Agrarian Business Club association , reported that after the holidays, egg prices in Ukraine decreased, surprising consumers. The average cost of a dozen eggs now ranges from 62-68 hryvnias, and has even been reduced to 58 hryvnias in some stores. The decrease in cost was made possible by favorable weather conditions and a stable energy situation in the country. Warm weather in January and February reduced heating costs for poultry farms, and the resumption of production also contributed to the decrease in prices.
However, with the approach of Easter, which is traditionally accompanied by an increase in demand for eggs, prices may begin to gradually increase. Maksym Hopka predicts that prices may rise as early as April 20 , when demand for eggs will begin to grow actively. The warm weather that will persist in April may affect the stability of prices, as it reduces production costs.
After the holidays, demand for eggs typically decreases, leading to lower prices. After Easter, egg prices are expected to return to their early 2024 levels, which is typical for this period. Traditionally, after peak demand, egg prices decline to more normal levels.
