In 2024, Ukrainians became less inclined to buy new cars with gasoline engines, although the market has still not lost its attractiveness. According to the UkrAvtoprom portal, the number of new passenger cars with gasoline engines amounted to 27.9 thousand units, which is 2% less than in the previous year.
A decrease in the share of gasoline cars in total sales of new cars was also recorded. If in 2023 gasoline models occupied 47% of the market, then in 2024 this indicator decreased to 40%.
Despite this decline, certain models continue to retain their popularity among Ukrainian drivers. The highest demand in 2024 was for the Mazda CX-5 crossover, which became the leader among gasoline cars, with a result of 1,738 units sold.
Kia Sportage (1582 cars) and Renault Duster (1553 cars) took the second and third positions in the rating. Skoda Octavia (1278 cars) and Hyundai Tucson (1210 cars) also entered the top five.
In the segment of imported used cars with gasoline engines, Volkswagen Golf became the leader with a result of 7,219 units, followed by Audi Q5 (4,578 cars) and Volkswagen Tiguan (4,414 cars).
