During the meeting of the UN Security Council, the permanent representative of Slovenia to the organization, Samuel Zbogar, expressed his position on the war in Ukraine, noting that it is impossible to talk about any "fatigue" as long as civilians die from shelling and the UN Charter is violated.
"As long as the principles of the UN Charter and international law are violated, as long as civilians suffer, there can be no fatigue. We must call aggression what it is - again and again," Zhbohar noted.
He noted that the discussion of Ukraine's issues in the UN Security Council has a "somewhat repetitive nature" due to the fact that the situation has not changed. Zhbogar condemned Russian aggression against Ukraine, which, in his opinion, continues to violate the UN Charter, international law, human rights and humanitarian law.
The diplomat expressed the opinion that the Security Council "must stop being silent and defend the UN Charter and peace." At the same time, he promised that Slovenia will continue to provide unwavering support to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
At the meeting of the UN Security Council, which was held on Wednesday at the request of the United States, the issue of violations by Russia and North Korea of resolutions regarding the supply of North Korean weapons to Russia was discussed.
