Free surgical operations for Ukrainians: how to use this service

In 2024, Ukrainians who need surgical operations will be guaranteed free medical care, including planned operations. To receive a planned operation free of charge, patients must contact a hospital that has a contract with the National Health Service of Ukraine (NHSHU) for the package "Surgeries for adults and children in hospital conditions" or "Surgeries for adults and children in hospital conditions one day" . It is important to have an electronic referral from your family doctor or attending physician and follow the rules of the medical facility.

The list of free services during hospitalization includes an initial examination, laboratory and instrumental studies, analgesia, anesthesia, the operation itself, drugs from the National List and other medical services. It is emphasized that providing a receipt for the payment of a charitable contribution or bringing medicines according to the list is not a rule, but a violation of the patient's rights.
