The majority of Ukrainians support the earliest possible end to the war through negotiations - Gallup poll

The majority of Ukrainians are in favor of ending the war with Russia as soon as possible through diplomatic negotiations, according to the results of a new survey conducted by the international research company Gallup. The results of this study raise an important question about the attitude of citizens to the current state of war and the future process of peaceful settlement of the conflict.

According to a survey conducted in August and October 2024, an average of 52% of Ukrainians would like Ukraine to negotiate an end to the war as soon as possible.

And only 38% believe that their country should continue to fight for victory. In 2022, this figure was equal to 73%. The following year, it decreased to 63%. And now, for the first time, those who are in favor of ending hostilities as soon as possible made up the majority.
