On December 28, 2023, intensified counter-subversive and security measures aimed at searching and controlling places of gathering of people will be introduced in Kyiv region. During the period from December 28, 2023 to January 6, 2024, the region will be inspected with the participation of law enforcement agencies, such as the Security Service of Ukraine, the National Police, the National Guard, and the 114th separate terror defense brigade.
The main objects of inspections will be shopping centers, supermarkets, railway stations, hospitals and other places of mass gathering of people. The purpose of the measures is to ensure public safety, as well as to facilitate investigative measures, since according to the police, more than 11,000 people who have committed criminal or administrative offenses are wanted.
The decision to strengthen countersubversion measures was taken at the Kyiv Region Defense Council, and the measures will include personnel checks, the deployment of additional checkpoints, and checks at important infrastructure points.
In the period from December 25 to 28, law enforcement officers have already conducted security training in various districts of Kyiv. The training was aimed at improving the system of management and organization, as well as effective interaction to ensure public safety in the event of an escalation of the situation. In addition, measures to protect the civilian population were worked out.

Given the current situation, temporary inconveniences are possible for citizens, but it is stated that these measures are necessary to ensure public safety and search for persons who have committed offenses.
