The SBU has detained the chief psychiatrist of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who also served as Deputy Chairman of the Central Military Medical Commission (CMMC). This commission decides on the fitness of military personnel for service, but as it turned out, its representatives may have used their positions for personal enrichment.
During three years of full-scale war (2022–2024), the official managed to accumulate assets worth over $1 million:
- private house in the Obukhiv district;
- two apartments in Kyiv;
- one apartment in Odessa;
- two land plots in the Obukhiv district;
- four new BMWs.

In addition, during the searches, 152 thousand dollars and 34 thousand euros in cash were seized from him.

The official who held the fate of the military in his hands risks up to 10 years in prison. There is growing discontent in society because, in times of war, such corrupt actions undermine trust in the system and demotivate both military personnel and civilians.
This case once again emphasizes the need to strengthen control over the activities of military officials, especially in structures that decide on service issues.
