American airline Boeing and Ukrainian company Antonov have signed a memorandum of understanding on potential cooperation in the production of drones for the military needs of Ukraine. The agreement, signed at the Farnborough International Air Show 2024, includes training, logistical support and repair of tactical unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), including the ScanEagle model, for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The agreement identifies the following areas of potential cooperation: training, logistical support and overhaul services for tactical unmanned aerial systems used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, including the ScanEagle. In addition, the companies will also explore the possibility of providing Boeing engineering support to Antonov.
We are pleased to continue our collaboration with Antonov to support Ukraine’s development and economic growth. This agreement demonstrates our ongoing efforts to seek new opportunities for cooperation with Ukrainian industry, which was highlighted by our signing of the Agreement on Cooperation with the Defense Industrial Complex of Ukraine earlier this year,
Antonov State Enterprise General Director Yevgeny Gavrylov stated that this agreement could contribute to the further development of Ukraine's defense industry, "in addition to the possibility of future projects with Boeing in the aerospace and defense industries.".
The state concern “Ukroboronprom” has opened its first foreign representative office in Washington, with the aim of strengthening cooperation with the US defense industry, attracting investments, promoting technology transfer, and implementing joint projects.
