The Bulgargaz state company, which is the main supplier of natural gas in Bulgaria, is preparing to expand to the Ukrainian market. Former Minister of Energy of Ukraine Olga Buslavts reported about it.
According to her, Bulgargaz considers the creation of a trade structure in Moldova, which will provide direct gas supply to Moldova and Ukraine. It is about the border regions of Ukraine bordering Moldova and are in total annual demand up to 1 billion cubic meters of gas.
"This can be the first case when Bulgargaz will enter the foreign market through its own foreign structure ," Buslavts said.
It is not only about expanding the geography of supply, but also about the creation of a new logistics route, which can reduce the dependence of the border regions of Ukraine on other gas sources.
If the project is implemented, it will be an important step for diversifying fuel supply to Ukraine against the background of a continuing energy crisis in the region.
