In Chernihiv region, the evacuation of residents of the border community of Semenivka, which is suffering from shelling by Russian troops, is ongoing. Over the past three days, more than 50 people, including children and people with limited mobility, have been evacuated from the dangerous area.
As reported by the head of the humanitarian mission "Prolisok" Yevhen Kaplin, on Saturday, January 11, 24 local residents were evacuated.
- Among them:
- 4 children;
- 10 people with limited mobility.
The evacuation was carried out using a special medical transport, which was staffed by medical professionals to provide assistance if necessary.
All evacuees were transported to Chernihiv, where they were temporarily housed:
- in dormitories;
- in modular camps for internally displaced persons;
- or with relatives living in safe areas of the region.
According to Yevhen Kaplin, the evacuation is being carried out free of charge, and each of the displaced persons receives temporary housing and necessary support.
Shelling of the Semenivska community poses a constant threat to local residents, especially vulnerable groups. Evacuation has become an important part of efforts to protect the population in border regions.
Humanitarian missions continue to work, providing assistance to people in crisis situations, providing transportation, medical care, and housing.
