On suspicion of illegal enrichment, the court set a 10 million hryvnia bail for Andriy Smirnov, the former deputy head of the Office of the President. Olesya Chemerys, spokesperson of the High Anti-Corruption Court, said this.
On May 29, the court upheld the position of the SAP prosecutor and applied bail in the amount of 10 million hryvnias to Smirnov, who is suspected of illegal enrichment in the amount of 15.7 million hryvnias.
Smirnov himself previously announced his intention to appeal the court's decision on bail in the amount of 10 million hryvnias. Previously, he also noted that he has no complaints against the detectives and described the handing over of the suspicion and the search as "quick and delicate".
Smirnov was deputy head of OPU Andriy Yermak from September 10, 2019 to March 29, 2024. In the fall of 2023, journalists managed to establish that NABU searched his driver, mother and brother in the case of the purchase of real estate and cars by his brother Igor at very low prices.
As you know, on May 22 NABU announced the suspicion of Smirnov for illegal enrichment of 15.7 million hryvnias, after which he was searched.
On May 28, the court ordered a preventive measure for him in the form of personal obligations and a bail of 10 million hryvnias, which had to be paid no later than five days after the preventive measure was chosen.
