Borys Shefir, the co-founder of the "Kvartal-95" studio and the brother of the recently dismissed first assistant and close friend of the president Serhii Shefir, criticized the campaign against the Russian language and culture in Ukraine. He expressed his opinion in an interview with the Ukrainian version of Radio Freedom.
"I love the Russian language, Russian culture. I can't watch the destruction of Pushkin's monuments in the country. For me, this is stupidity," he said.
Now Boris Shefir lives in Germany. He does not plan to return to Ukraine before the end of the war and went to "save the children from the war." "The business has fallen, it does not work, because there is no entertainment television in the country. I have children, I am 64 years old, I am not conscripted. That is, I went to save children from the war," said Shefir.
According to Shefir, he has not communicated with Volodymyr Zelenskyi for two years and is not involved in politics, because "he is not in the flow of today's state beliefs." "Now he listens to other people and does something that I don't like," added Shefir.
According to him, he has already completely stopped cooperation with "Kvartal". "First of all, I don't really like what they are doing now. Humor became not mine. Secondly, it is impossible to do it from here. And I will not take my children there, they were given to me in the second half of my life so that I would not risk them," said Boris Shefir.
He also believes that the military conflict will end with peaceful agreements and compromises.
