In the village of Prybuzhany, Kamianka-Buzka community, Lviv region, a brutal robbery attack on a private house took place on the night of December 15. Two men broke into the house in the middle of the night, beat the owners and injured them with a cold weapon. The police promptly detained the suspects.
According to the Lviv regional police, the crime occurred at around 2:00 a.m. The attackers broke down the front door of the house where a 33-year-old woman and her 34-year-old roommate live. After breaking in, the attackers attacked the owners of the house, inflicting numerous blows on them, and also wounding them with an axe and a knife.
During the attack, the men took possession of the victims' mobile phones and then fled the scene. The victims were provided with medical assistance, and the nature and severity of their injuries are being determined.
Thanks to the prompt actions of law enforcement officers, the attackers were quickly identified and detained. They turned out to be local residents aged 22 and 25. According to law enforcement agencies, both suspects live in the same locality.
Investigators opened criminal proceedings under Part 4 of Article 187 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – robbery combined with breaking into a dwelling and causing grievous bodily harm. The sanction of the article provides for a penalty of imprisonment for a term of up to 15 years with confiscation of property.
Investigative actions are currently underway, law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the crime and the motives of the attackers.
