The gas station chain “BRSM-Nafta” has paid 140 million hryvnias to the state budget as part of a tax evasion case. This was reported by law enforcement agencies, entrepreneurs, and officials of enterprises that are part of the group, who hid transactions worth millions of hryvnias in their tax returns.
This is reported by enkorr, citing its sources.
According to the Prosecutor General's Office and the Bureau of Economic Security (BEB), in 2021-2023, officials of enterprises hid transactions totaling UAH 435 million and UAH 560 million in their financial statements. This allowed them to avoid paying UAH 140 million in value-added tax (VAT).
"According to the investigation, such actions led to an understatement of tax obligations and a failure to receive more than UAH 140 million into the state budget," the official statement says.
Thanks to the pre-trial investigations, UAH 140 million was fully reimbursed by the enterprises, and these funds have already been transferred to the state budget.
As part of the criminal proceedings, suspicion was declared against the director and accountant of the enterprises. However, after the full compensation for the damage caused, a petition was filed with the court to release them from criminal liability.
This is not the only criminal case related to the company. Law enforcement officers are also investigating the evasion of UAH 5 billion in taxes by the Fastiv Organic Solvents Plant, which is part of the BRSM group.
In addition, according to the A-95 Consulting Group, in 2023-2024, the company did not pay more than UAH 100 million in operating taxes to the budget every month, including VAT, income tax, personal income tax, and single-entity tax.
The investigation is ongoing, and law enforcement is investigating other possible violations by the company.
Let us remind you that the anti-rating of taxpayers among gas station chains is led by the BRSM chain, whose owner is Andriy Biba, who lives in Italy and cooperates with the Russian Federation.
