Brussels will not concede: Ukraine's military support will continue

The European Union stated that it would not stop military assistance to Ukraine, even if Russia demands it as a condition of a truce. Brussels emphasizes that Ukraine has enough weapons to secure a strong position in negotiations and reliable protection against possible new attacks.

Brussels diplomats emphasize that weapons will not stop because the EU seeks to provide Ukraine with a strong position for peace talks and protection against potential new attacks by the aggressor.

According to diplomats, the key purpose of the European Union is to ensure that Ukraine has the opportunity to choose the optimal moment for negotiations, while remaining securely protected from possible attacks. It is also noted that during a potential temporary ceasefire, Ukraine must be supported by weapons so that it can withstand and not allow the aggressor to regroup for new blows.

EU representatives do not agree to the termination of weapons, even if the Russian Federation requires this as a truce. They believe that Ukraine's defense capabilities are important for its safety and stability on the continent.

The European Union seeks to ensure that Ukraine is in the strongest position in peace negotiations, and could give up the "bad", as Trump would say, agreements and choose the most suitable moment for itself for negotiations. I do not think that the European Union and its members will stop supplying weapons to Kiev if the aggressor requires this as a truce condition

- According to one European diplomat.

On Monday, March 17, the EU Foreign Ministers will discuss further steps to cease fire and support Ukraine at an EU Council meeting. The meeting is expected to participate in the Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga, who will be involved in discussions through video communications.

Other important issues include an initiative on a new military assistance package of Ukraine, including the supply of artillery shells, air defense systems, as well as training in Ukrainian military brigades. Financial aid is expected to be from 20 to 40 billion euros.
