During the Yalta European Strategy (YES) forum, the head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, reported a significant increase in the production of guided aerial bombs (UAB) in Russia, which became a serious problem for Ukrainian troops at the front.
Budanov emphasized that although the Russian Iskander missile systems have received a lot of attention, the real danger is the increase in the production of anti-aircraft missiles. "This is a huge problem on the front line. The production of guided aerial bombs has increased several times, which creates serious difficulties for the military working at tactical depth," he noted.
The problem of KABs at the front
Kyrylo Budanov noted that anti-aircraft guns are particularly dangerous because of their ability to inflict significant damage at the tactical level. They directly affect the positions of Ukrainian troops and civilian infrastructure, which complicates the conduct of hostilities and causes great damage.
He also emphasized that, although Russia has focused its attention on missile systems, in particular the Iskander, the growth of the production of anti-aircraft missiles is a new challenge. This increase in production could have serious implications for strategic planning and the operational situation at the front.
