Lieutenant General Kyrylo Budanov, head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, predicts that in the near future the Russian occupiers may again strike Ukraine with Kalibr cruise missiles, after a long break.
Budanov expressed his predictions during the live broadcast of the “United News” telethon on March 31, 2024.
The “Calibers,” according to the lieutenant general, have been accumulating throughout this period and are now completely ready for use. He believes that due to the reduction in the number of X-101 missiles, it is possible to expect the use of “Calibers” in the near future.
The Russians are not currently using the Calibers because they have been stockpiling them. However, they are technically ready for use. Previously, the decision to abandon the Calibers in favor of the Kh-101 missiles was due to their greater efficiency. But now that the fleet has stockpiled its missiles, the Calibers are ready for use.
