Football club "Uzhgorod" faced a serious test on the way to the game with "Polyssy-2" from Zhytomyr. 100 kilometers from Zhytomyr, the team's bus got into a traffic accident, which significantly affected the team's preparation for the match. The press service of the club informed about the incident.
As a result of the accident, several members of the team's coaching and medical staff were injured. Head coach Yaromyr Loboda, coach Robert Smokorovsky and doctor Volodymyr Chervinyak were injured and were urgently hospitalized at the nearest hospital. Physiotherapist Mykhailo Dankov and strategic director of the club Felix Ardelyanov also suffered minor injuries.
The minibus in which the management and coaching staff of "Uzhhorod" was traveling was significantly damaged. Judging by the photos released by the club, the vehicle is unlikely to be repaired.
Despite the psychological blow the team received on the eve of the important match, "Uzhgorod" still decided to continue its training. After the completion of the investigative actions, the club's players went to the evening training, although in a rather limited composition. The club expressed its gratitude to Zhytomyr "Polyssy" for the prompt response and assistance in transporting the team from the scene of the accident to the training base and to the hotel.
However, failures haunted the team on the field as well. In the match against "Polyssyam-2", which took place on August 18, "Uzhhorod" suffered a defeat with a score of 4:1.
