In Ukraine, pensioners working in the civil service can claim a significantly higher pension than ordinary citizens. According to the Telegraph, in 2025 the amount of such payments could be more than 17 thousand hryvnias, provided that the monthly salary was at least 23 thousand.
The pension provision for civil servants is based on a rate of 60% of their last salary. For example, with a salary of 24 thousand hryvnias, the pension may exceed 17 thousand hryvnias.
It is worth noting that to retire from civil service in 2025, you must reach the age of 62. This is later than for other Ukrainians, who retire, as a rule, at 60.
The size of the pension does not depend on the exact retirement age or the number of years of insurance experience in excess of the required one. However, in order to be entitled to this category of pension, a civil servant must have at least 35 years of total work experience, of which at least 20 years must be in the civil service.
With the help of a pension calculator, everyone can calculate their possible benefits based on their salary level and number of years of service. This allows you to estimate in advance the future level of retirement income and, if necessary, adjust your plans.
