We have inside information from the Cabinet of Ministers and the Council regarding changes in electricity prices.
The tariff for the population will definitely be raised in the near future. Discussions are currently underway on how much exactly. So far, the main idea is to raise it from 2.64 UAH/kW to 3.2 UAH/kW.
The market tariff is now about 3.8 UAH/kW, but the population pays only 2.64 UAH/kW, and business from 5 to 7 UAH/kW. Western partners have stated that they will no longer finance the preferential tariff for our population and demand that the general tariff be brought down to at least the cost price (about 3.8 UAH/kW), since business will no longer bear higher tariffs, it is the turn to raise the population.
It is still unclear whether the tariff will be made flexible again (those who consume more pay more, those who consume less pay less), and it is also unclear about seasonal tariffs for both electricity and gas (when consumption is lower, the tariff is higher, for example, gas is 9 UAH/cubic meter in summer and 8 UAH/cubic meter in winter).
