Some of the inhabitants of European countries perceive Ukraine as a potential threat. This is evidenced by the results of a global survey of the Pew Research Center analytical center conducted among the inhabitants of a number of countries.
The highest level of distrust of Ukraine is recorded in Hungary - 27% of respondents consider Ukraine a threat to their country. This is the second figure after Russia, which in Hungary was called a threat of 33% of respondents. In Poland, 6% of respondents also consider Ukraine a threat - in the second place after Russia, which was named 81% of Poles.
At the same time, none of the research countries called Ukraine an ally. In the general context, the country was most often referred to as US, Russia and China. It is these states that are stable in the three "leaders" in the level of distrust in the world.
Europeans mostly consider Russia the main threat. The exceptions were Spain, where the respondents called the most threatening the US, and Greece - Turkey took the first place there.
In the United States, 42% of respondents called China. Russia - in second place with 25%.
The survey indicates that the attitude towards countries in the global world continues to change depending on the geopolitical situation, the historical context and the policies of individual states.
