Due to a journalistic investigation, Klitschko suspended his deputy Volodymyr Prokopiv

Mayor of Kyiv Vitaliy Klychko announced the suspension of his deputy, Volodymyr Prokopiv, from the duties of the deputy head of the Kyiv City State Administration (KMDA). This decision was made after the second part of the journalistic investigation, which shed light on possible abuses and violations in Prokopiv's activities.

"I appeal to the law enforcement and anti-corruption authorities to verify the facts presented by the investigative journalists of Bihus.Info regarding the Deputy Chairman of the KMDA Volodymyr Prokopiv. Also, for the duration of the inspection, for its objectivity, I suspend Prokopiv from performing the duties of deputy head of the KMDA on self-governing powers," Klitschko wrote on his Telegram channel.

Last week, in the Bihus.Info investigation, it was noted that relatives of Volodymyr Prokopiv, the deputy mayor of Kyiv, purchased numerous real estate objects during his work in the Kyiv City Council and KMDA. Purchases include apartments, offices and commercial premises in prestigious areas of the capital.

Yesterday, October 21, Bihus.Info released the second part of the investigation, which indicates that two friends of the deputy head of the KMDA Volodymyr Prokopiv through private companies acquired at least six real estate objects that previously belonged to the city.

In particular, the investigation indicates that Oleksandr Poshtaryuk is a compatriot of Prokopiv from Ivano-Frankivsk, worked for many years in the companies of the politician's wife and father-in-law as a hired employee. At the same time, he helped the Prokopiv family with real estate and cars. In 2016, he sold a MERCEDES-BENZ GLK 220 CDI 4 MATIC policy at half the market price. In a few years, in 2018, he helped Prokopiv become the owner of an estate of 600 square meters. in the cottage town "Konyk". Poshtaryuk allegedly built it with his own funds, although according to journalists, he had no commensurate income.

As indicated in the investigation, Poshtaryuk gave the completed but not yet renovated estate to Prokopiv, while the politician instead gave his friend his old, 5 times smaller house on the outskirts of Kyiv, with a small additional payment. While the estate was being completed, Prokopiv lived in a neighboring house, which was also bought by Poshtaryuk. Officially, Prokopiv rented it, but did not even pay for the rent for a long time.

Another friend of Prokopiv is Andrii Stetsenko. Since 2018, his wife has been working in the Kyiv City Council, namely in the Secretariat, which was previously headed by Prokopiv. The Stetsenkas, like the Prokopivs and Poshtaryuk, from Ivano-Frankivsk, having moved to Kyiv, they rented an apartment from Prokopiv's father-in-law's company for many years. And Stetsenko registered his FOP and still keeps it in Poshtaryuk's apartment, according to the investigation.

According to the investigation, Stetsenko helped the Prokopivs acquire elite real estate for pennies. First, he invested on his own behalf in the construction of the Signature residential complex, under unknown circumstances, purchasing an apartment at a price four times lower than the market price, and then for the same price he sold the rights to the apartment to the company of Prokopiv's wife. Currently, the Signature residential complex is the most expensive residential complex in Kyiv.
