The Supreme Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine has postponed the consideration of a preventive measure for Deputy Prime Minister Oleksandr Chernyshov. The reason is the official's statement that he is unable to attend the court due to participation in a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.
This is the first hearing in the case after Chernyshov, who was abroad, returned to Ukraine and received suspicion from the National Anti-Corruption Bureau. According to the investigation, this involves serious corruption violations, the details of which have not yet been officially disclosed. At the same time, there are suggestions in the public space that the case may relate to the period of his work as Minister of Community Development or the head of Naftogaz.
It was previously reported that NABU detectives were waiting for Chernyshov to return to the country to personally serve him with the suspicion. It is likely that his participation in the Cabinet on the day of the trial only delays the process of bringing him to justice.
