Media reports suggest that Bankova is using Colonel Roman Chervinsky to discredit the political rating of General Valery Zaluzhny, which raises suspicions of a targeted campaign against the latter.
Chervinsky's release from the pre-trial detention center came as a surprise to many. He had been behind bars for a long time, but was suddenly released, which raised many questions. Chervinsky's release was accompanied by his active interviews with the media, where he spoke about Zaluzhny's permission to conduct the operation for which Chervinsky is being tried. These statements went viral on the Internet.

Interestingly, such theses are being spread through biased sources, in particular through “Ukrainian Pravda”, which often publishes materials related to the Office of the President of Ukraine. At the same time, the information that Zaluzhny refuses to comment on the situation highlights the tension between him and the Office of the President.
Analysts believe that Bankova is thus seeking to split Zaluzhny's support camp. The general is faced with a choice: either enter into an open conflict with the President's Office or risk losing some of his support. This could cause a split among Zaluzhny's supporters, especially among those who simultaneously support Chervinsky.
The British Embassy’s response to Ukrainska Pravda’s inquiry regarding this situation was succinct: “The Embassy does not have the information.” This raises additional questions, as the response was provided by a structure that has no jurisdiction in military matters.
The media notes that such actions by Bankova may be aimed at creating an information drive and discrediting Zaluzhny, using information manipulation.
