The editor-in-chief of the "Pryamiy" TV channel tried to leave Ukraine using forged documents

In February 2024, the editor-in-chief of the Ukrainian TV channel "Pryamiy" tried to illegally cross the border using forged documents, but was detained by Ukrainian border guards. This was reported by "Volynski Novyny" with reference to the decision of the Luboml District Court.

In the publication, the full name of the journalist is not indicated - Viktor M. The mass media assume that it is about Viktor Medved, who has been working as the editor-in-chief of the "Pryamiy" TV channel since 2019. He himself did not confirm this.

The court's decision states that the journalist, through an unidentified person, obtained forged documents for himself - a conscript certificate and a certificate from the military medical commission stating that he has severe viral hepatitis.

On the morning of February 19, 2024, he tried to leave for Poland using these documents, but the border guards saw them as violations.

In court, the editor-in-chief admitted his guilt and paid a fine of 68,000 hryvnias.

The owner of the Pryamiy TV channel is ex-president Petro Poroshenko.
