Military expert Ihor Romanenko believes that the goal is to "cut" the supply chains of Western weapons. These statements became discussed against the background of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and armed confrontations between Russia and Western countries.
Currently, it makes no sense for terrorist Russia to use nuclear weapons, but the population of western Ukraine should be informed about the potential threat, military expert and former deputy chief of the General Staff Ihor Romanenko said.
Nuclear weapons of the Russian Federation According to him, threats from Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin are not the first time, but currently there are no objective grounds for the use of nuclear weapons by Russia.
The expert believes that now is not the time when it is appropriate for Russia to use nuclear weapons, because the occupiers are advancing and using conventional conventional weapons to solve their problems. In addition, from a military point of view, the use of nuclear weapons on the contact line will create serious problems for the side that uses them, which will have serious consequences, noted Romanenko.
However, according to the expert, information about a possible nuclear threat must be conveyed to the civilian population of the western regions of Ukraine. "People need to be told exactly how to act in conditions of a nuclear threat, where to seek shelter, how to behave and protect themselves. Such work must be carried out, the civilian population must be ready for possible challenges and consequences," said Romanenko.
When asked why British intelligence points to a possible nuclear attack on the western region of Ukraine, the expert noted that terrorist Russia believes that the main logistics routes for the supply of weapons and military equipment pass through this region. That is why, in his opinion, the occupiers want to make this territory uninhabitable in order to cut off all possible logistical routes. Areas with radiation contamination will need to be bypassed. As Romanenko added, this is exactly what the Russians see as a military point.
