Vitaliy Shabunin, head of the Anti-Corruption Center, found himself at the epicenter of a scandal due to receiving a certificate of participation in hostilities, despite the fact that, according to journalist and military serviceman Volodymyr Boyk, he was not at the front and did not serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to his information, in the combat zone, Shabunin was listed as a combat medic of the security platoon of the 101st separate security brigade of the General Staff.
"The evader Shabunin also served fictitiously as a combat medic, never appearing in the unit (his unit was at the front at that time, by the way), which did not prevent him from receiving cash support on the card. Three weeks later, Umerov transferred Shabunin to his ministry - for further fictitious "mobilization service under martial law," Boyko reports.
He claims that Shabunin, "who never served a single day", was paid "combat" and additional remuneration.
As Boyko writes, in December 2023, the current chief of the General Staff, Barhylevych (then the commander of the TRO troops), appealed to the Security Intelligence Service in December 2023, but a criminal case was never opened.
