In Ukraine, new conditions have been introduced for receiving a housing subsidy, which relate to arrears for the payment of communal services.
As reported in the press service of the Pension Fund of Ukraine (PFU), citizens who have overdue debt for more than three months for utility bills or the costs of managing an apartment building will not be able to receive subsidies.
In particular, the subsidy is not assigned if the debt for communal services or house management has accumulated for an amount exceeding 680 hryvnias (40 of the tax-free minimum income of citizens). These restrictions also apply to debts incurred in the last three years. At the same time, if the debt is repaid or a restructuring agreement is concluded, as well as if the debt is challenged in court, the subsidy can be assigned within two months from the beginning of the heating or non-heating season.
Thus, in order to receive help from the state, it is necessary not only to pay for utility services on time, but also, in the event of debts, to promptly conclude restructuring agreements or provide documents confirming the absence of debt.
