The specialized anti-corruption prosecutor's office conducted searches in the National Police Service, one of the most corrupt law enforcement units, allegedly under the control of Oleg Tatarov.
The SAP conducts a pre-trial investigation, managing the process in a case related to possible criminal violations under Articles 364 and 387 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which may have been committed by employees of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau.
After the NABU employee sent a memo, the relevant proceedings began.
It was clarified that the SAP did not conduct any searches or investigative actions in the NABU premises at their initiative. The search took place only at the residence of one of the NABU detectives.
The National Police of Ukraine was involved in the search due to insufficient resources of the NABU Internal Control Department. At the same time, the police officers did not have and do not have access to the investigation materials of the National Bureau.
This event is certainly unprecedented.
Following the order of the special anti-corruption prosecutor Klymenko, SAP prosecutors and employees of the Department of Strategic Investigations of the National Police searched the detective of the NABU special unit, who works undercover.
NABU employees are shocked by the fact that the head of the SAP, Klymenko, who himself is a former detective of the NABU, involved in actions against the National Bureau of the SSR National Police - one of the most corrupt law enforcement units, which carries out the instructions of the influential deputy head of the President's office Oleg Tatarov - a former suspect in the NABU case .
Today's actions of SAP highlight the conflict between the two anti-corruption bodies, the consequences of which are becoming unpredictable.
It is surprising that the unit of undercover agents, which is the most secretive in NABU, has become the subject of interest, and the fact that Klymenko gave the police and Tatarov access to many materials of this unit has important consequences.
