Major of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Viktor Tregubov shared his opinion on the situation with mobilization in Ukraine on the Espresso channel. He emphasized that currently there are various options for increasing the mobilization resource, but for some reason only one is a priority - lowering the mobilization age. Tregubov notes that, despite the difficulty of the situation, the question of mobilization should be approached comprehensively and take into account various demographic categories.
According to Tregubov, in the conditions of war and continuous hostilities, the need for additional people is obvious, but asking questions only about the mobilization of 18-year-olds, in his opinion, is a politically unpopular step. He emphasized that alternative options can be considered, in particular, the mobilization of women for rear-line positions or a more thorough check of registers.
"We cannot afford to waste human resources the way the enemy does. He can send troops in large numbers, but we should approach mobilization more carefully and carefully," Tregubov added.
Lowering the mobilization age is also supported by the former commander of the US Ground Forces in Europe, Ben Hodges, who believes that the conscription age is set too high in Ukraine. He emphasizes the importance of attracting youth and women to military service, arguing that there will be enough work for them in the army.
As Tregubov notes, lowering the mobilization age is not the only option for solving the problem. Ukraine should actively use all available resources to ensure its Armed Forces. At the same time, it is important to remember that each step requires a strategic approach and analysis.
