The military lawyer drew attention to the controversial actions of territorial recruitment centers (TCC), which create serious risks even for those who have long been excluded from military registration.
In her practice, Daria Golodnyak encountered a case where a man, excluded from military registration due to health reasons over 20 years ago, received a demand to replace his military registration document (VOD).
Despite his status being officially confirmed, the CCC declared the old document invalid. The man was advised to contact the center in person to obtain a replacement.
“At first glance, this looks like a simple procedure,” the lawyer notes. “However, in reality, it often involves passing a military medical commission (MMC), after which citizens excluded from the register risk being reinstated on the lists of those liable for military service.”
According to the lawyer, many citizens do not even suspect that contacting the CCC may lead to a change in their status in the Unified State Register of Conscripts, Military Conscripts, and Reservists.
“Such situations are not isolated. People excluded from registration due to serious health problems may find themselves in a risky situation due to bureaucratic actions,” emphasizes Daria Golodnyak.
The lawyer advises:
- Carefully check the requirements of the CCC. Before taking any action, it is worth familiarizing yourself with the official documents and requirements.
- Consult with lawyers. This will help you avoid rash steps that could have serious consequences.
- Keep copies of documents. This applies to both old military registration documents and all new requirements from the CCC.
This case highlights the need for legal awareness and caution when interacting with the CCC. Daria Golodnyak emphasizes that every citizen has the right to protect their status and avoid unjustified risks.
“Knowing your rights and timely referral to specialists can protect you from unwanted consequences,” the lawyer concludes.
