Today, Ukraine will experience relatively mild winter weather with thaws and precipitation in the form of wet snow and rain. In most regions, temperatures will hover around freezing, while in the south and east, the air will warm up to spring temperatures.
According to weather forecasters, on Wednesday, thermometers in most regions will show from -1° to +2°. The temperature in the east is expected to reach +4°…+5°, in the southern regions — +7°…+9°, and in Crimea it will warm up to +11° in some places.
At the same time, light precipitation is forecast in the west, north, and center of the country throughout the day - wet snow with rain. Cloudy weather will prevail.
In Kyiv on January 29, it will be cloudy, about -1° at night, up to +1° during the day, light wet snow with rain is possible. A similar situation is expected in most western cities: in Lviv, Lutsk, Rivne, Ternopil, Khmelnytskyi, Ivano-Frankivsk, Uzhhorod and Chernivtsi, the temperature will fluctuate from 0° at night to +2° during the day, precipitation is also forecast.
In the central regions - Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad and Poltava - it will be cloudy, about 0°…+2°, with light wet snow and rain in places.
In the north, particularly in Chernihiv and Sumy, cooler air will persist: up to -1° at night, about +1° during the day, with light precipitation.
It will be warmest in the south. In Odessa, Mykolaiv, Kherson and Zaporizhia, the temperature will rise to +9° in the afternoon, without significant precipitation, but with cloudiness. In Crimea, forecasters predict up to +11°.
A thaw will also be felt in the east of the country: in Kharkiv and Dnipro during the day about +2°, in Kramatorsk and Severodonetsk - up to +4°.
Forecasters note that such weather, with temperature fluctuations and wet snow, can cause ice on roads and sidewalks, so drivers and pedestrians should be careful.
Also on January 29, believers commemorate the transfer of the relics of the holy martyr Ignatius the God-bearer. According to folk omens, if birds fly little on this day, the weather may soon deteriorate.
