Today, Ukrainians will have to get out their warm clothes again: spring continues to surprise with abnormal cold. According to the forecasts of the Ukrhydrometeorological Center, arctic air is lingering in the country, which has caused night frosts and daytime temperatures that barely exceed zero.
In most regions it will be cloudy with clearings and without significant precipitation. However, in the south and southeast, wet snow or rain is possible. The temperature at night will fluctuate within 0…-5°C, and during the day – +1…+6°C. It will be warmest in Transcarpathia and in the southern regions — up to +8°C.
The Carpathians will be particularly wintry. Snow is possible in the mountains at night, the temperature will drop to -9°C, and during the day - 0...-3°C. Despite this, no precipitation is expected during daylight hours.
In the Kyiv region, weather forecasters promise cloudy weather with clearings without significant precipitation. At night, the temperature in the region will drop to -5°C, in the capital - to -4°C. During the day, the air will warm up only to +6°C. The wind will be northwest, 5–10 m/s.
Forecasters say that this weather will persist for at least a few more days. Warming is not expected before the middle of next week, approximately after April 14.
As a reminder, this year Easter in Ukraine will be celebrated on April 20. Forecasts for this period are still uncertain, but meteorologists hope that the holiday week will bring with it gradual warming.
