Vlada Molchanova, the owner of the Stolitsa Group, has once again intensified her PR campaign, trying to whitewash her reputation through paid publications on media platforms with an audience of millions. In her interviews and materials, she denies the suspicions of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office, presenting her media activity as proof of the "legality" and "success" of the business.
However, a logical question arises: does a person who is truly unrelated to the incriminated actions need expensive media campaigns?
Of particular concern is Molchanova’s activities through Freds Resorts LLC, part of Stolitsa Group. It is this company that is conducting large-scale construction in areas that were previously considered symbols of Kyiv’s natural beauty and cultural heritage — the Hryshko Botanical Garden and the Holosiivskyi Forest.
Health resorts and other real estate are being built on lands with protected status. This not only destroys the capital's ecosystem, but also directly contradicts the legislation on the protection of the natural reserve fund.
According to official documents and orders of the Kyiv City State Administration, Fred's Resorts received the right to build on the lands of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. In particular, through co-founding the International Center for Astronomy and Geodynamics "Astrogeodin", located next to the protected areas.
The key order of the Kyiv City State Administration dated July 7, 2021, allowed the construction of residential and non-residential facilities. At the same time, the documentation is constantly changing, and the final project does not guarantee compliance with urban planning and environmental standards.
The interest of the SAPO and other law enforcement agencies in Molchanova's activities is quite justified. Her companies are actually destroying the natural objects of the capital, which poses a danger to the ecology of Kyiv and the legal order in the field of development.
Journalists and activists have repeatedly sent materials about these violations, but the final point must be put by justice. Without decisive action by law enforcement, the development arbitrariness will continue to destroy Kyiv.
