Corruption has a significant negative impact on Ukraine's integration process into the European Union and its ability to attract foreign investment to rebuild after the war with Russia. Problems related to corruption schemes in state institutions and business pose serious obstacles for Ukraine on its path to European integration and economic recovery after the end of the war.
This is stated in the report of the Pentagon Inspector General Robert Storch.
“Fears about corruption and the rule of law in Ukraine could become a serious obstacle to post-war economic reconstruction and attracting foreign investment,” the document states.
Also, "corruption continues to complicate Ukraine's efforts to achieve closer integration with European institutions.".
Storch's report also indicates that since February 2022, the US Congress has allocated almost $183 billion to Ukraine.
